I also think it would be ideal if we could still use RapidWeaver's link function to define links as it allows seamless linkage to other pages within the site, and it follows if these pages are moved.  Thus the plugin would pre-filter the text, and replace RW's links with the link format used by the filter.  The filter profile's 'link insertion format' option would tell the plugin how to perform this.

One more... the plugin could handle RW's image insertion in similar fashion - the advantage of using RW's image insertion is that you no longer need to manually add the image to the page's assets.
